Licensed Veterinarians
The owner of Silver Lake Small Animal Veterinary Clinic, Kathryn Kays, DVM, is our primary veterinarian. She is available to see your pet by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Thursdays, our relief veterinarian, Denise Pearson, DVM, is available by appointment in clinic as her schedule allows.
In addition to our in-clinic small animal veterinarians, we also have Robin Surface, DVM who spends her days in the field taking care of our large animal clients.
Our veterinarians are caring, understanding animal lovers who will do everything they can do to make sure your pets get the quality care they deserve. They, along with our highly experienced staff of assistants and technicians, will leave you knowing your pets are in good hands.

The veterinarians at Silver Lake Small Animal Veterinary Clinic see patients BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Although we are not an emergency clinic, we do understand that occasionally through accident or illness, your animal may need to be seen urgently. Our assistants will do their best to be sure your pet gets the care it needs. If we are unable to see them in clinic, we will provide you with contact information and, if needed, directions to Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (NIVES) in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Our small animal veterinarians, who focus on the care of dogs and cats, are available for surgical appointments during the morning and the afternoons are reserved for general wellness, maintenance, and other outpatient services. If at any time you are unable to keep an appointment, contact the clinic and our assistants will gladly help you reschedule at a time that better suits your schedule. Appointments may be scheduled by calling our clinic or through the TeleVet App.
Our large animal veterinarian deals primarily with horses and cows. While she sets her own schedule, our assistants are happy to reach out to her on your behalf or put you in touch with her to schedule an appointment or to speak with her about your large animal issues.
